Summers, for all intents and purposes, wants to consolidate the Fed and Treasury balance sheets via tight Fed-Treasury coordination.

Also, he wants to eliminate long-term borrowing!

He calls the current system of the Treasury issuing debt without coordinating with the Fed is 'absurb'!

Pretty interesting to see him debate these former Treasury officials...
