Patrick Buchanan — U.S.-Russia Clash in Ukraine?

Not often that I agree with Pat. He Paul Craig Roberts are some of the old guard Republicans understand this better than the contemporary neocons and their tag-alongs in both parties and apparently the US State Department, Defense Department, and Armed Forces. Have they really thought this through, and are they willing to "do what it takes"? What has changed that the prospect of a land war in Asia seems like a good idea?

I agree with anyone who thinks that this is madness. Except that the objective is not Ukraine. The US is expecting to lose this war, fought with conventional weapons. What comes afterwards - a cold war standoff or a nuclear escalation - has probably been planned.

It seems the US is ready to fight Russia to the last dead Ukrainian. It's madness to be sure and if the escalation continues it will not end well.

The Crimea has gone back to Russia and nothing will change that. To militarily attack or invade Crimea is to attack or invade Russia.

This is seems to be the ultimate end game of arming Kiev, which, if true would be catastrophic.

The US has implemented its' all too familiar regime change policy with the goal of replacing Putin and that means a lot of pawns will be sacrificed in the effort.

Rule 1, on page 1 of the book of war, is: "Do not march on Moscow". Various people have tried it, Napoleon and Hitler, and it is no good. That is the first rule.

I'm losing grip with the world. Are we really governed by completely delusional egomaniacs everywhere in this world?

It may be a sign that the whole system is imploding from the inside ala Roman Empire collapse and no one knows what is coming next. The 'moron rule' cannot mean anything else.
