Cheap shot...

Varoufakis had some personal photos out this week of himself sitting down (in a fing t-shirt) with his wife for a simple home prepared meal of a couple of roasted fish, marinated vegetables with octopus and a salad and probably a $10 bottle of white wine.

And then this moron says "white wine socialism" in imo a cheap shot implying that enjoying a great home meal with loved ones made from local produce is "elite" or hypocritical or something.

If this is what we have to consider "elite" according to the libertarian scum opponents of so-called "socialism"  then we are in even bigger trouble than I previously thought.

Yes, silly. BTW, wine is a daily beverage all over Mediterranean Europe, among pretty much all classes.

Well, I like Aussie beer and my belly does not let me lie about it.

Sometimes I do have a good Aussie red, though, but only in what passes for "winter" Down Under.

At least, the wine is RED. :-)

Magpie we often buy Australian and New Zealand wines.... I think they are very good and reasonably priced here in US..

Ive been buying local beers though for a while from small brewers in my immediate area...

I'd like to use the photo to make a point that at least for Greece, I think they should just focus on domestic production and consumption of domestic products (and live well while doing it btw...) .... stop buying the German autos completely and look to reduce imports substantially... get off oil and get on hydrogen...

Get Toyota to come in there and build a vehicular assembly plant of new generation vehicles or something... and then everybody could drive/use those vehicles...

They have to reduce imports and become more self reliant and get themselves in a position to produce what they need or they will be like Venezuela and have to rely on foreigners for toilet paper and the trade balance goes to deficit and then it becomes harder/impossible to meet the Treaty NIA targets and still deliver an acceptable domestic economy for their citizens...

imo YV has the solution sitting right on the table in front of him here...

Greek wine might be a little dry... without proper irrigation.

The true "elites" want the rest of us to have nothing at all. Slaves...without pay...to ensure their ever accumulating profits and wealth. Then when we can't work anymore, we can go f**king die.

Bang on! Fuck the Merkel-jerk as every EU nation struggles to be the net exporter in competition with the 5th Reich's automation. I'm sure that the periphery nation's citizens were told that if they joined, they would lose their jobs, home and hope. NOT!

Nailed it! Small Public Gov't = Big Corporate Caliphate.
