Colonel Cassad — It is easier to liquidate the Ukraine than it is to return Crimea

Given the preservation of the current regime in Russia, it is much easier for the RF to liquidate the Ukraine itself than to return Crimea, which will be a clear act of capitulation. The meaning of these synchronous threats of ultimative nature is to show Russia once again that there won't be compromise scenarios and so the war at this stage will proceed on the principle "everything or nothing", which is what the USA originally insisted on. In this respect, today's accusations http://www.rbc.ua/rus/news/mid-rf-obvinil-poroshenko-podryve-minskogo-1426531615.html (in Russian) of the Russian MFA directed at the junta are a sign of looming escalation borne of the lack of negotiating capacity of the USA and the junta.
Naturally, Russia won't return Crimea, and so we may expect a multi-year confrontation. So, the current Kremlin line towards preparing for life under the conditions of prolonged sanctions is quite adequate for the current situation.

Minsk agreement going nowhere.
The only thing that is interesting in all of these accusations directed at the junta of doing what it always does and violating all of the agreements that were signed with it is the terms when the next sequence of fraud and deceit will conclude with high-intensity military action. The fact that Kiev is not going to implement the Minsk agreements is absolutely obvious and it makes absolutely no sense to discuss how Kiev can actually implement them. These types of announcements by the leadership of the DPR and the LPR as well as the yesterday's statements by the MFA of the RF have long-term meaning only in the aspect of declaring the fascist junta to be fully responsible for the upcoming military action.
