It's a transfer of wealth from the working class to the rich.
As Beardsly Ruml warned about cutting corporate taxes: "Suppose the corporation income tax were removed, where would the money go that is now paid in taxes? That depends ... If the industry is neither competitive nor organized nor regulated ... a large share would go to the stockholders."
But I agree that pleading and groveling is not the right response.
