Is US Preparing for Assad's Removal Amid Strikes on Damascus' Allies?

Washington is harboring a plan for a new "color revolution" in Syria, seeking to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and replace him with a pro-American submissive government, Russian Senator and intelligence veteran Igor Morozov told RIA Novosti.

The US is preparing a large-scale operation aimed at toppling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and replacing him with a pro-American puppet regime, Russian Senator Igor Morozov, a member of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, believes.

"The United States is making efforts to seize the strategic initiative in Syria by carrying out a 'color revolution' with the assistance of the armed forces; [they] are preparing an attack on Damascus to oust the current Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and install a submissive leadership in [Syria's] government," Morozov told RIA Novosti.

NYT front page today screaming about protests across Russia. Regime change, anyone?

Did they mention the numbers? Especially in comparison with those that turned out to celebrate Russia Day. Laughable.

The headlines of the US and UK press are filled with this nonsense.

And they have their underwear in a knot over police repression, which in Russia is nothing on the order of what has recently gone down in the US and UK.

Navalny was arrested for trying to move the site of the protest from the approved site to one that was not approved. What happened with Occupy Wall Street tried to move the site of protest to Wall Street itself?

The Western press is just propaganda on this. The reporting is ridiculously slanted, way beyond being able to explained by lack of professionalism.

Yea, sure, a US attack on Damascus that's well within Russian airspace and SAMs. Who buys this idiocy??? This is about US brokering SDF/FSA deal that even Turkey can live with, and working with Iraq to stop the PMU going into Syria, halting the Iranian/Shia crescent. Sort of puts a big hole in Putin's entire post-ISIS dream and Assad's desire to barrel bomb his way back to the good old days. Police repression in US/UK on par with Russia? One can sure tell where someone actually chooses to live. ;-)
